Courses and events

The Academia Raetica organizes transferable skills courses for all scientists from its member and partner institutions. Public events are aimed at everyone with an interest in science.

The Academia Raetica and its member institutions and partners organize exhibitions, excursions, conferences, lectures and workshops to publicize the results of research in the Grisons.

The Academia Raetica is the coordinator of the event series Science Café Graubünden (Wissenschaftscafé Graubünden), a format to promote dialogue between researchers and citizens. The Science Cafés are a national project of the Science et Cité Foundation and are part of the Science Cafés Switzerland. The organisers of the individual events in Graubünden are, in addition to the Academia Raetica, its members and other institutions associated with science in the canton of Graubünden. The Science Cafés are held in German. Download program flyer "Wissenschaftscafés" from September until November 2025.

Sonderausstellung "immer wilder": Bildpaare erzählen vom Wandel im Schweizerischen Nationalpark

Parkpioniere, Forschende, Reisende, Berufsfotografen oder Parkwächter – sie alle haben
einen fantastischen Fundus an Fotografien in der über hundertjährigen Parkgeschichte hinterlassen. Einige Dutzend dieser Aufnahmen haben wir ausgewählt und in den letzten zwei Jahren an den exakt gleichen Standorten nachfotografiert. In einer Sonderausstellung im Schweizerischen Nationalpark Zentrum in Zernez werden anhand der Bildpaare von damals und heute gezeigt, wie sich die Landschaft während der letzten 111 Jahre verändert hat.

This Coaching Funding is confidential and will provide precise feedback to third-party funding applications - focus SNSF. Coachee must be main applicant of the relevant funding application.

Projects must be performed at a Research Institution that is either a member or partner of the Academia Raetica.

Filmmaking for scientists

Scientists can benefit from the inspirational, educational, and motivational power of films to communicate their knowledge and expertise to both peer scientists and the general public.

Unfortunately, the technical skills for filming and editing, as well as developing a strong narrative, lie outside our training as academic scientists. In this workshop, participants will learn about camera, audio, lighting equipment, and how to use film editing software, together with how to write, design and carry out the basics of making a documentary. This practice-focused workshop will include filming short documentary films.

WSL Tag der jungen Landschaftsforschung 2026

Nach den bisherigen erfolgreichen Tagungen organisiert das Zentrum Landschaft der WSL wieder die Tagung "Junge Landschaftsforschung". Diese richtet sich an Nachwuchsforschende und -gestaltende, die an Projekten (Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten, Dissertationen, PostDoc-Projekte usw.) mit Landschafts-Bezug arbeiten, und diese in Kurzbeiträgen vorstellen möchten.

Die urbane Zwischennutzerin, der lokale Schreiner, die IT-Fernarbeiterin, der Biker und die Skifahrerin, der Architekt und die Landwirtin – sie alle treffen sich in der Landschaft. Am 5. Schweizer Landschaftskongress in der Alpenstadt Davos analysieren wir Landschaften als Geflechte von Beziehungen von Menschen und Räumen und damit als Schmelztiegel gesellschaftlicher Entwicklungen.
