Einführung in automatische Textanalyse anhand praktischer Beispiele aus der Forschung. Es wird sowohl eine Einführung in die Methoden geben, als auch Bibliotheken und Skripte in R und Python angewendet. Die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der automatischen Inhaltsanalyse werden diskutiert.

Auch im Bergell wurden in der Frühen Neuzeit Frauen und Männer als «Hexen» hingerichtet, darunter mindestens eine Person aus Castasegna. Im Unterschied zu den anderen Bündner Südtälern ist die Bergeller Hexenverfolgung aber noch wenig erforscht. An ihrem Vortrag wird Antonia Bertschinger erste Resultate dieser Forschungen präsentieren.

Despite increasing scientific knowledge and the implementation of hazard and risk management strategies, mountain societies continue to be affected by high loss events (e.g. events Grison, Valais, Ticino in the summer 2024). The lecture will present focused studies on challenges of risk management under changing climatic conditions, extremes and cascading events as well as their interactions.

At this get-together, we will introduce you to the various services Academia Raetica offers to researchers and provide you with an overview of Graubünden as a location for research, education and science.

Neben den staatlichen Fördermitteln (SNF, Innosuisse, Horizon Europe usw.) sind Stiftungen wichtige Finanzierungsquellen für Forschungsvorhaben an Fachhochschulen. Der Kurs setzt sich fundiert mit der Akquise von Stiftungs-Förderbeiträgen auseinander. Dabei werden auch individuelle Fragen der Kursteilnehmer vertieft und diskutiert. Die Teilnehmenden sind eingeladen, eigene Beispiele in den Kurs zu bringen, die mit den Experten diskutiert werden können.

Mit rund 1000 bekannten Fällen war Graubünden ein «Hotspot» der Hexenverfolgung. In allen Gerichtsgemeinden des Dreibündestaats wurden Menschen wegen Hexerei vor Gericht gestellt und hingerichtet. Antonia Bertschinger gibt einen Überblick über das Geschehen und erklärt Verlauf und Eigenheiten der Bündner Hexenverfolgung.

The skill of writing an article – and getting it published in a peer reviewed journal – is highly prized, but rarely taught. This one-day course concentrates on this skill, and in particular on the process of writing. Participants should come with an idea for an article, and during the day they will work this up in easy stages.

In der Forschung und Entwicklung in Liechtenstein kommt KI auch bereits zum Einsatz.

Fresco di stampa l'ultimo studio dello scrittore e storico Andrea Paganini, realizzato in collaborazione con l'Istituto di Ricerca per la Cultura Grigione, sarà presentato dalla Pgi Valposchiavo all'interno di sConfini Festival del contrabbando culturale che si terrà dal 21 aprile al 4 maggio 2025. Lo studio rappresenta un'ampia esposizione sulla storia della frontiera e del contrabbando in Valposchiavo e in Valtellina dal 1800 al 1950, evidenziando l'importanza del fenomeno per l'identità locale.

In diesem Workshop erhalten Sie eine praxisorientierte Einführung in die Methodik des Systematic Review mit Fokus auf die Entwicklung einer präzisen Forschungsfrage und die systematische Literaturrecherche.

«Ein Bild sagt mehr als Tausend Worte», hört man oft in dem Zusammenhang, wenn es darum geht Daten grafisch aufzubereiten. Die Teilnehmenden lernen, Forschungsdaten, Konzepte und Ergebnissen in ansprechenden, klaren und aussagekräftigen Grafiken darzustellen. Du erwirbst die Fähigkeit, wie Du mit visuellen Elementen gezielt Deinen Forschungsantrag verbessern kannst, indem etablierte visuelle Designregeln beachtet werden.

Das ikg bildet zusammen mit dem VCS und Pro Velo Graubünden das Organisationskomitee für Veranstaltungen zum Jubiläum «100 Jahre Automobil in Graubünden» im Jahr 2025. Interessierte Vereine, Gruppierungen, Kunstschaffende und Einzelpersonen können sich melden, wenn sie dazu etwas in ihrer Gemeinde organisieren möchten.

Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen sind die häufigste Todesursache. Sie treten oft scheinbar plötzlich auf – etwa als Herzinfarkt oder Schlaganfall. Tatsächlich aber entwickeln sich Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen über viele Jahre und Jahrzehnte. Dies ist einerseits heimtückisch, öffnet andererseits aber ein weites Zeitfenster für therapeutische Interventionen. In den letzten Jahren hat die medizinische Forschung entscheidende Fortschritte in der Prävention von Herz-Kreislaufereignissen erzielt. Ursachen von Herz-Kreislauferkrankungen können heute frühzeitig identifiziert und behandelt werden.

The conference on “Multilingualism and minority languages in a global context” will take place in Davos from 21–23 May 2025. The conference is organised by the University of Teacher Education of the Grisons (PHGR) in cooperation with the University of Teacher Education Lucerne (PHLU) under the patronage of the international consortium “Multilingualism as a Chance”. Partner organisations include the Department of Education and Learning/University of Teacher Education (SUPSI/DFA, Ticino) and the University of Teacher Education Valais (HEPV-S).

Die Teilnehmenden lernen, wie sie ihre Projekte überzeugend darstellen und die Anforderungen von Stiftungen gezielt erfüllen können. Ein weiteres Ziel ist es, die wichtigsten Schritte im Antragsprozess zu verstehen und häufige Fehler zu vermeiden. Die Teilnehmer:innen sollen in der Lage sein, eine nachhaltige Finanzierung für ihre Forschungsprojekte sicherzustellen. Am Ende des Kurses kannst Du kompetente und fundierte Anträge verfassen.

In recent years, the availability of Earth observation data from satellites has increased dramatically, allowing for systematic and global monitoring of Earth's surface processes at an unprecedented scale. These advancements hold significant relevance even for countries with highly developed terrestrial and airborne monitoring systems as they enhance our understanding of, for instance, various types of mass movements in high mountains.

Since 1999, eCM ’s yearly conferences in the preclinical orthopedic research area in Davos were organized by scientists from ARI and have now been rebranded to ARI Orthopaedics —conferences where biologists, material scientists, engineers, clinicians, and the relative industry can meet. The 2025 congress edition will be an exceptional one, since it will, from 16-19 June, bring together all orthopedic fields across three important conferences at the Davos Congress Centre; EORS, CAOS, and ARI Orthopaedics .

Every scientist has to visually communicate scientific data. As figures in scientific manuscripts, slides in conference talks, posters and increasingly also as graphical abstracts, interactive visualizations, and in dashboards. Yet, the fundamentals for designing data visualizations for audiences are not part of the core undergraduate and graduate curriculum. In this workshop, participants learn to understand and prepare efficient scientific data visualizations.

Am Stillberg im Davoser Dischmatal erforscht das SLF, wie verschiedene Baumarten an der Waldgrenze mit sich ändernden Umweltbedingungen zurechtkommen und wie der Gebirgswald auch in Zukunft vor Naturgefahren wie Lawinen und Steinschlag schützt. 2025 feiert das SLF nun das 50-jährige Jubiläum der Aufforstung zusammen mit der Öffentlichkeit und Fachpublikum.
