Researchers Beer - Casual conversations about research for all

Academia Raetica

Location: Kulturplatz Davos, Promenade 58c, Davos Platz

Start: 6:30 PM

On the first Tuesday of the month at 18:30, scientists and anyone with a thirst for knowledge meet at the “Researchers Beer” in the foyer of the Kulturplatz Davos to socialize and exchange ideas.

On December 2, we will welcome Giulia Bruno from the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF as our Special Guest.

Since autumn 2024, Giulia has been a postdoc in the “Hydrology and Climate Impacts in Mountain Regions” group at SLF and a guest scientist at ETH Zurich. Before coming to Davos, she conducted research at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Berlin and completed her PhD at the CIMA Research Foundation in Italy.

Her research focuses on how droughts in rivers and streams develop and what impacts they can have. At the Researchers Beer, Giulia will talk about how she has analyzed previous studies on drought events and brought their findings together. She will also show why this research is important for mountain regions.

The event will be held in English.
