Dr. Alexandra Wallimann, AO Forschungsinstitut Davos

Alexandra Wallimann grew up in the canton of Obwalden and studied Biomedical Sciences in Fribourg (Bachelor) and Bern (Master). She moved to Davos in February 2018 to begin her doctoral studies. Her PhD project, a collaboration between SIAF and the AO, was completed in 2022. She then spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher at CK-CARE, focusing on atopic dermatitis. From immune responses in the skin to immune responses in bone fractures: starting in 2026, Alexandra will join the AO as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of osteoimmunology.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature and in the mountains—mostly in running shoes, but also on her road bike or cross-country skis.
