The AO Education Institute is the driving force behind the global educational programs of the AO Foundation. Specialists in medical education and training, as well as adult education, collaborate with surgeons from around the world to develop continuing education programs in various clinical areas of the AO (including veterinary medicine).
AO offers 700 to 1000 courses annually worldwide, most of them as physical teaching events, but some are also hybrid or fully online. Each year, approximately 55,000 surgeons and operating room professionals participate in AO courses. The development of curricula is based on the latest research findings in medical education and training, ensuring that AO courses meet all standards for certification and accreditation.
Additionally, AO EI develops multimedia educational resources for medical training; eLearning, books, journals, videos, and reference materials support surgeons and operating room professionals in continuously improving the treatment of their patients.
