Green City of The Future

WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF

Climate change threatens cities in particular through the increasing frequency and intensity of heatwaves, rainfall and droughts. Green infrastructure is increasingly seen as a key measure for adapting to climate change in cities. What potential does it really have and how should it be designed? How can the conflict between densification in growing cities and the development of green infrastructure be resolved? The lecture presents results from research projects of the Centre for Urban Ecology and Climate Adaptation at the Technical University of Munich.
