The original mountain landscape around Piz Sardona in the border region between the cantons of Grisons, St. Gallen, and Glarus, offers a unique opportunity to experience the diverse characteristics of mountain formation. The 330 km² area is of great educational and scientific value. The office maintains good relations with research institutions, is supported by a scientific advisory board, and supervises bachelor's, master's, and other research projects. Certified GeoGuides accompany excursions. Specialist literature, teaching materials, further training, visitor centers, and various geosites make geology understandable.
