This workshop offers a real-life and practical approach of how-to NETWORK in general and with focus on the upcoming conference “Graubünden forscht 2024” on November 8-9, 2024.
Course Description
What is a NETWORK? Key-elements and limits of a real network
The art of NETWORKING:
the 4 steps model supports you in planning and doing
how-to approach a person: what is a “first contact” – and what not
a bundle of communication starters will be provided
have a good “escape plan”: how-to stop a networking conversation
how-to use online formats e.g., Zoom for networking
Tipps & Tricks, Do’s and Don’ts:
Research on NETWORKING: how your network can IMPACT your career
NETWORKING inside University and outside University
Practical exercise:
NETWORK ANALYSIS: status of your network and future goals will lead to YOUR NETWORK ACTION PLAN
Methods
Theory, practical and interactive exercises, a lot of time for Q&A

About the lecturer
Susanne Matuschek has more than 30 years of experience with Networking in different professional sectors (Academia, Private, Industry, NPO). Additionally, she has over 20 years of experience in the topic of research funding at all academic levels, whereof 8 years at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Program Manager of several funding schemes. Chair of European Working Groups within Conditions of a Research Career in Europe.
Since 2010 she runs her own company MATUSCHEK CONSULTING offering Coaching, Workshops and Webinars.
