Target participants

Surgeons who are developing their practice in the field of orthognathic surgery (residents and qualified surgeons) and orthodontists.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Adequate facial analysis (airway, function, soft tissue, standard photography, etc) of patients with functional and esthetic concerns

2. Correctly diagnose based on all the information

3. Make treatment decisions based on patient needs and expectations considering pretreatment assessment (discuss and communicate with orthodontics and the patient)

4. Plan for the procedure and treatment and consider predictability and long-term stable results based on the current evidence-based guidelines

5. Describe the treatment procedures available with pros and cons respecting the range of hard and soft tissues

6. Recognize and address potential complications and explain to the patient

7. Document and analyze your results (quality control)
