Lecture by Christian Ruch

Graubünden and the Second World War

The lecture deals with the perception of the Second World War from a Graubünden perspective, i.e. the question of how the state of emergency of the war and the situation of Switzerland as an isolated country affected the everyday life of the people of Graubünden. In particular, the following questions are addressed:

How did the population perceive the course of the war?

What did people know about the almost industrialised extermination of European Jews?

How did people react to the waves of refugees that reached Graubünden?
