Researchers Beer: Phage Therapy – Medicine Goes Viral

Academia Raetica

At the “Researchers Beer” in the foyer of Kulturplatz Davos, scientists and interested citizens gather on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM for conversation and networking.

On 3 February 2026, the Researchers Beer will focus on phage therapy—viruses that attack bacteria and are increasingly seen as a promising answer to antibiotic resistance. Our special guest is Dr. Thomas Häusler, who has been following and documenting this field for more than 20 years.

In conversation with Barbara Haller Rupf, Thomas Häusler will discuss the scientific foundations of phage therapy, its long and often overlooked history, and why it is gaining renewed attention today.
