Stephanie Mayer, SLF

Stephanie Mayer is researching the effects of climate change on avalanche activity in her doctoral thesis at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF. Before starting as an intern at SLF in 2015, she studied physics at ETH Zurich. She applies the theoretical-analytical skills associated with physics to avalanche research to develop methods that can be used in a practical setting, such as assessing avalanche danger using simulated snowpack data.

She very much appreciates the opportunity to complete her doctoral thesis in a place like Davos. In the mountains of the Grisons, she loves to go climbing, ski touring, drawing and painting in secluded places.
