Rachele Delucchi studied Italian literature and linguistics at the University of Zurich and earned her Ph.D. with a phonetic and phonological study of vowel harmony in the Italo-Romance dialects of Ticino and Graubünden (Fonetica e fonologia dell'armonia vocalica. Esiti di -A finale nei dialetti della Svizzera italiana, 2016). From 2009 to 2015, she served as a research assistant and lecturer at the Chair of Historical Linguistics of Italian in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Zurich.
In 2018, Rachele Delucchi completed a second degree in the history and philosophy of knowledge at ETH Zurich. Her master’s thesis focused on the history of the urban pneumatic tube system in Switzerland (A Niche Affair: On the History of the Urban Pneumatic Tube System in Switzerland, ca. 1920–1927). She subsequently served as acting coordinator for the visiting professorships in Italian and French literature and culture at ETH Zurich.
From 2020 to 2022, Rachele Delucchi was a postdoctoral researcher, and from 2022 to 2025, she served as a senior research assistant at the Chair of History of Technology at ETH Zurich. Since 2020, she has been a lecturer in the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Political Science at ETH Zurich.
Since fall 2025, Rachele Delucchi has been the director of the Institute for Cultural Research in Graubünden.
