UNESCO-Welterbe Tektonikarena Sardona

In the pristine and diverse mountain landscape around Piz Sardona in the border area of the cantons of Grisons, St. Gallen and Glarus, mountain building processes and plate tectonics can be observed in a vivid way that is unique in the world. The 330 km2 area has great educational and scientific value.

The office maintains good relations with regional and national research institutions. Bachelor's and Master's theses are supervised on an ongoing basis, and other research work is promoted, coordinated and documented. A scientific advisory board provides technical support and ensures contact with the research institutions.
