Since 1984, the Foundation for Gastroenterological Surgery has been running the annual DavosCourse as a hands-on course, in which more than 12,000 surgeons have now been trained. In nine different modules, participants are trained in basic, intermediate and advanced courses covering colorectal, hernia, bariatric, HPB, upper GI, paediatric and emergency & acute care surgery in open and minimally invasive surgery without risk on models, as well as in the associated theory units. The foundation and course management consists of leading surgeons. Participants come from European countries. The foundation's goal is to promote young talent in surgery.
