Dr. Stephanie Mayer, SLF

Stephanie Mayer completed her doctoral thesis at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF on the impacts of climate change on avalanche activity and is now continuing her research as a postdoc at SLF. Before starting as an intern at SLF in 2015, she completed a physics degree at ETH Zurich. She utilizes her theoretical and analytical skills associated with physics in avalanche research to develop practical methods, such as assessing avalanche danger based on simulated snowpack data.

She greatly values the opportunity to work in a place like Davos. In the mountainous region of Graubünden, she enjoys spending time in remote locations for climbing, ski touring, drawing, and painting.
