Objectives
The challenges faced by PhD candidates & Postdocs have risen successively in recent years, including the demand for third-party funding.
The workshop offers information from planning to submission of an application for third-party funding. Participants know the most important elements on how to plan, prepare and write a convincing proposal. Transfer of many hints & tricks due to insights into the SNSF.

GO TO THE MONEY POTS: funding possibilities and the importance of the different roles in funding applications
YOUR CAREER & FUNDING: focus on SNSF Career Funding, Swiss EU/ERC-replacement schemes, overview private foundations
YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS: plan, prepare and write a convincing grant proposal: 5-step model
HOW-TO: the most important application documents, part 1
TAKE ALL: Hints & Tricks, Do's and Don'ts
Day 2
HOW-TO: The most important application documents, part 2
FEEDBACK: Discussion of practical exercise with individual feedback by the trainer
YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS: important elements of a success-oriented project design and most important features of a convincing research plan

About the trainer
19 years of experience in the topic of research funding and the support of early-stage career researchers. More than 8 years at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Program Manager in the Career Division. Chair of two European Working Groups within Conditions of a Research Career in Europe. Since 2010, Susanne Matuschek owns her own company Matuschek Consulting, offering coaching, workshops, and trainings.
