Paul Petzold was born in 1950. He grew up in Adelboden. After a traditional education in the hospitality industry, he first worked in Ascona, Arosa and Wengen. He went on to gain some international experience in Paris/France and Banff/Canada. Together with his wife Heidi, he managed the Hotel Davoserhof from 1975-2000, which they turned into a 4-star hotel with outstanding cuisine. At the same time, he created a second foothold with the establishment of various IT companies (PC systems (Davos) AG, Mirus Media AG, Mirus Software AG, Informatica AG). For some of those businesses he still acts as managing director and board member. In 2014, Paul Petzold joined the board of trustees for the Davos Festival. In addition to being a board member of the Davos Destinations Organisation, he became president of the tourist organisation in 2015. Paul Petzold has two adult children and four grandchildren.
