The Rector of the Theological University of Chur, Prof. Dr. Eva-Maria Faber, has been admitted to the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in recognition of her diverse scholarly achievements in the fields of dogmatics, fundamental theology, and ecumenism.

“The heart is the most magnificent organ there is!” David Niederseer was already convinced of this when he first examined the anatomy of the heart more closely during the dissection course at the beginning of his medical studies. Since the summer of 2023, the sports cardiologist and researcher has been driving the expansion of cardiovascular research and sports cardiology at the Hochgebirgsklinik Davos. The cardiology team at the Hochgebirgsklinik Davos, under the leadership of Jan Vontobel, aims not only to set new standards in clinical care but also to further strengthen research in this field. T

David Schmid, Leiter Regional Development & Relations am CSEM, erläutert wie die Forschung auch in Graubünden dazu beitragen kann, dass Graubünden in den nächsten Jahrzehnten CO₂-neutral unterwegs sei könnte. Zu diesem Thema findet auch das Wissenschaftscafé Graubünden am 16. Mai um 18.30 Uhr in die Bibliothek Landquart statt.

Häufig hängt der Erfolg einer orthopädischen und unfallchirurgischen Behandlung von Knochenbrüchen mit den Fähigkeiten und dem Ausbildungsstand der operierenden Chirurgen/-innen zusammen. Um die oftmals komplexen operativen Aufgaben ausreichend und vollumfänglich lernen und trainieren zu können, wurden neue innovative Lösungen am AO Forschungsinstitut Davos (ARI) entwickelt.

“Generative AI has so far lacked a connection to the real world. We need to give AI a physical presence. The vision is to develop a curious robot that, like a small child, is able to recognize and learn connections on its own in a constantly changing world. Humans are able to draw meaningful conclusions from a small amount of data and observations. AI has hardly been able to do this so far.”

Seine Theatergruppe Nucleus und er waren derart von Sonnenstürmen fasziniert, dass sie mehr darüber erfahren wollten. Ein Besuch des Physikalisch-Meteorologischen Observatoriums Davos (PMOD) schürte die Begeisterung und diente als Inspirationsquelle.

The SnowImager measures snowpack structure. Members of the avalanche warning service still undertake the time-consuming work of establishing the characteristics of the snowpack manually. The SnowImager is intended to significantly speed up the process and make it objective.

Since 2019, Yasutaka Mitamura has dedicated himself to researching skin diseases at the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) in Davos. Mitamura’s research interests focus in particular on atopic dermatitis, also known as neurodermatitis. Last year, Mitamura presented new research findings on the molecular and genetic causes of atopic dermatitis together with researchers from the SIAF and renowned institutions from Switzerland, Germany and the USA.

It all started with a single cell. The cell that is the beginning of you, me, your pet, the dinosaurs and ultimately all living creatures on earth. But how does a cell know what it should do and what it should be? The information is mainly found in the genetic material that we possess in the form of deoxyribonucleic acid - DNA for short. This is the main instruction manual that, like a recipe book, determines what a cell will do and how it will interact with the surrounding cells.

Klarspüler aus gewerblichen Geschirrspülern führt zur Schädigung des Darmepithels. Mitarbeitende des Schweizerischen Instituts für Allergie- und Asthmaforschung (SIAF) in Davos, das mit der Universität Zürich assoziiert ist, haben bei ihren Untersuchungen festgestellt, dass nach einem Waschgang in professionellen Geschirrspülmaschinen ein Rückstand des Klarspülers auf dem Geschirr verbleibt. Diese Chemikalien können das Darmepithel schädigen und zur Entstehung von chronischen Krankheiten beitragen.

Im Herbst 2023 feierten gleich zwei bedeutende Bildungsinstitutionen der Bündner Wissenschaftslandschaft einen runden Geburtstag: die Fachhochschule Graubünden wurde 60 Jahre alt – etabliert, aber immer noch sehr frisch – und die Pädagogische Hochschule ist mit ihren 20 Jahren mehr als volljährig. Beiden Bündner Hochschulen sei noch einmal gratuliert zum runden Geburtstag – etwas verspätet zwar, jedoch nicht minder herzlich!

Die Forschung im SRISM widmet sich brennenden Fragen der Sportimmunologie: Warum sind Spitzenathleten anfälliger für Infekte, Entzündungen, Allergien und Asthma, während sportliche Aktivitäten die Freizeitathleten vor Infektionen und Asthma zu schützen scheinen? Gibt es messbare Charakteristika, mit denen besonders anfällige Personen identifiziert und diese anschliessend besser geschützt werden können? From a scientific point of view, it is now undisputed that we humans are contributing significantly to the ongoing warming. Nevertheless, there are still knowledge gaps and uncertainties in the field of climate research. For example, the effects of aerosols on climate are not yet fully understood. Aerosols are solid and liquid particles suspended in the air that come in a variety of sizes. Environmental physicist Stelios Kazadzis of the Davos Physical Meteorological Observatory/World Radiation Center (PMOD/WRC) reports how the internationally recognized research institute is helping improve our understanding of the effects of aerosols on climate.

In her doctoral thesis, Julia Paterno from the Swiss National Park is investigating how natural and man-made influences, especially noise, affect the singing behavior of songbirds in mountain forests.

Aber woher weiss eine Zelle, was sie tun und was sie sein soll? Die Informationen befinden sich hauptsächlich im genetischen Material, das wir in Form von Desoxyribonukleinsäure - kurz DNA - besitzen. Dies ist die Hauptanleitung, die wie ein Kochbuch bestimmt, was eine Zelle tun wird und wie sie mit den umliegenden Zellen interagieren wird.

Die Anwendung künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) wirft viele Fragen und Ängste auf. Stefan Engler erinnert das Hin- und Hergerissen-Sein zwischen Faszination und Ohnmacht an Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Ballade vom «Zauberlehrling» des Jahres 1797. Auch dort gerät das Geschehen ausser Kontrolle.

Anlässlich des «Researchers Beers» vom vergangenen Dienstag teilte die Assistenzprofessorin an der Universität von Michigan / USA), Claudia Loebel, ihre Erfahrungen mit dem Publikum.

Her experience at a small animal clinic in England sparked veterinarian Esther Wehrle’s interest in bone healing research: “I was interested in why some developed healing problems and others did not.” Since April 2022, she has been head of bone biology at the AO Research Institute (ARI) in Davos, which offers an optimal environment for this interdisciplinary and translational research. Wehrle uses animal models to research bone healing in animals and humans, with a particular focus on mechanics and molecular and immune biology.

The research team led by Professor Mirjam Schenk is using modern and innovative methods to investigate the causes of atopic dermatitis. One promising approach is the use of single-cell RNA sequencing.

Kendra Wernlé’s passion for biology and space developed at an early age when she watched the American TV science program “Cosmos”. At the University of Zurich, the American-born scientist can combine her passion for both fields of research. Wernlé is part of the team of the research group “Gravitational Biology” led by UZH Space Hub director Oliver Ullrich and scientific department head Cora Thiel. The research group is primarily interested in how weightlessness affects cells of the human immune system and how altered gravity affects genes.

Since its beginnings 65 years ago, the AO Foundation has been dedicated to the treatment of bone fractures. The Fracture Monitor, a new smart implant developed at the AO Research Institute Davos, aims to enable individualized follow-up treatment by objectively recording the bone healing process.

Wie moderne Technologien den Weg zur personalisierten Medizin ebnen

Proteine als Grundbausteine des Lebens Proteine sind essentielle Bausteine von Zellen und Organismen. Sie setzen genetische Infor­mationen um und spielen dabei eine zentrale Rolle in einer Vielzahl biochemischer Prozesse. Sie ermöglichen Stoffwechselvorgänge, über­ tragen Signale und geben Zellen sowie Gewe­ben ihre Struktur. Die Erforschung von Prote­inen und deren Analyse ist daher ein wichtiger Bereich der Biochemie und Biomedizin, insbe­sondere für die Erforschung von Krankheiten und der Entwicklung von entsprechenden Me­dikamenten.

Das «Bündner Doktorand*innen-Kolloquium» ging am 30. Juni in die zweite Runde, dieses Mal an der Theologischen Hochschule Chur. Fünf aktuell Doktorierende, drei Expertinnen und ein Experte, die ihre Dissertation vor Kurzem abgeschlossen haben, haben sich an diesem Event getroffen.

Anne Kempel is researching biodiversity on the Jakobshorn - more precisely, the plants and their enemies. The topic of biodiversity is currently on many people's minds. It is particularly pronounced here. "We want to understand how this meadow works and how it will react to climate change," says the biologist.

Jessica Munch, a geophysicist at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF in Davos, studies the behavior of ice-rock avalanches in the European Alps, but also in Kyrgyzstan or India. Although such avalanches are not as common as snow avalanches, their impact can be significant.

The brochure "Research in Graubünden 2022-23" provides an attractive picture of the diversity of research performed in Graubünden. The wealth of ideas in the mountain canton is impressive - showcasing this is of great importance for us. 

Es gibt viele unbeantwortete Fragen zu COVID-19, zum Beispiel wie und weshalb es zu schweren Verläufen und Langzeit-Symptomen kommt und wie man diese am besten behandelt. Diese Fragen beschäftigen unser Team von Forschenden und Klinikerinnen und Klinikern an der HGK und am Christine Kühne – Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE). Unser Ziel ist es, zu einem besseren Verständnis der Rekonvaleszenzphase nach COVID-19 beizutragen, um schlussendlich eine bessere Behandlung unserer Patienten zu ermöglichen.

Durch die Analyse des persönlichen Musters der Werte aus den digitalen Daten kann die Ärztin oder der Arzt eine individuellere Behandlung ermöglichen. Das heisst, die Technologie ist vorhanden, klinisch validiert und von medizinischem Fachpersonal empfohlen – und doch werden viele Schweizer skeptisch bei dem Gedanken, dass ihre Vitalzeichen von einem Gerät erfasst werden. Fragen wie etwa jene, wo die persönlichen Gesundheitsdatenabgelegt werden, ob sie sicher sind vor unbefugtem Zugriff oder ob die Krankenkasse ein Interesse daran hat, beschäftigen die Menschen.

Das ETH Studio Davos wurde im Sommer 2022 gegründet und bietet Masterstudierenden der ETH die Möglichkeit, mit viel Ideenreichtum Lösungen für Unternehmen im Bereich der Digitalisierung zu erarbeiten. Die Partner des ETH Studio Davos sind das CERC/SLF, Davos BioSciences, Lab42, das Schweizerische Institut für Allergie- und Asthmaforschung SIAF und PMOD/WRC. Einer der Ersten, welcher die Chance einer Projektarbeit im Rahmen des ETH Studio Davos wahrnimmt, ist Luka Skolc aus Ljubljana, Slowenien.

The Davos Course is taking place for the fortieth time this year. From April 15 to 20, 2023, two hundred and sixty aspiring surgeons will practice surgical techniques on organs in the abdominal cavity under the guidance of seventy medical specialists at the “Davos Course” at the Davos Congress Center. The spectrum of practice ranges from making a correct surgical knot to performing a gallbladder removal using minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery.

Der Bündner Regierungsrat Dr. Jon Domenic Parolini äussert sich in unserer Forschungskolumne im Bündner Tagblatt, was die «Nicht-Assoziierung» der Schweiz am europäischen Forschungsprogramm «Horizon Europe» für Auswirkungen für den Forschungskanton Graubünden hat.

Benjamin Walter erinnert an eine gelb-blaue Mischung aus Teletubby und Michelin-Männchen. Kein Wunder, denn als der Wissenschafter aus der Gruppe Schneephysik die Türe zu seinem Labor öffnet, schlägt ihm eiskalte Luft entgegen. Zwischen minus 20 und minus 25 Grad Celsius, wer hier arbeitet, benötigt einen Schutzanzug, wie ihn Walter trägt. Im Kältelabor des WSL-Instituts für Schnee und Lawinenforschung SLF untersucht er Eigenschaften von Schnee in einem Windkanal. Seine Ergebnisse zeigen beispielsweise, unter welchen Windbedingungen sich Wechten an Berggraten aufbauen und wie sich gefährliche Schwachschichten bilden können.

Über Chancen und Grenzen zum Thema «Architektur und Energie» diskutieren die Architekten Christian Auer (Fachhochschule Graubünden), René Meier (Fanzun AG), der Bündner Kantonsbaumeister Andreas Kohne, der Ingenieur David Schmid (CSEM) und die Schreinermeisterin Barbara Schuler-Rozzi (Präsidentin Verband Schweizer Schreinermeister und Möbelfabrikanten Graubünden) mit Barbara Haller Rupf (Academia Raetica).

«Mit den Erkenntnisgewinnen aus unseren Forschungsprojekten tragen wir aber auch zu Innovationen, Wissen und Lösungen für die Gesellschaft bei. Die Forschung an der FH Graubünden basiert auf vier Pfeilern. In ausgewählten Bereichen beschäftigen wir uns mit Grundlagenforschung, wie sie auch an den universitären Hochschulen und den beiden ETHs betrieben wird. Grossmehrheitlich aber ist unsere Forschung anwendungsorientiert, das heisst, wir arbeiten gemeinsam mit Industriepartnern und teilweise auch anderen Hochschulen an der Lösung eines «Problems» aus der Praxis.»

Am 12. März stimmt die Bündner Bevölkerung über den Neubau der Fachhochschule Graubünden ab. Die Academia Raetica befürwortet das Projekt.

Since 2020, the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR) has been training bachelor students to become engineers in the “Mobile Robotics” study program. Director of Studies Christian Bermes has been involved from the beginning and is enthusiastic that the first class will graduate in late summer 2023. Bermes’ projects also include the ongoing development of the boarAI prototype – a ground robot for search and rescue missions.

For intelligence to be artificially replicated and used for practical applications, completely new approaches are needed. Lab42 therefore relaunched a global competition last fall: the ARC Challenge, which was first launched by AI pioneer François Chollet back in 2019. ARC tests basic logical principles of reasoning, quantifying an important part of human-like intelligence.

What are the values on which our relationship with nature is based? In Graubünden, nature is omnipresent. The environmental social scientist Mollie Chapman and the environmental ethicist Anna Deplazes Zemp research the relationship between humans and nature.

Was verstehen wir unter Forschungsethik? Ethik in der Forschung hat in letzter Zeit stark an Bedeutung und Aufmerksamkeit gewonnen, doch was ist Ethik in der Forschung überhaupt? For his master’s thesis at the University of Zurich, wildlife biologist Sven Buchmann studied how environmental and climate factors affect the distribution and abundance of alpine marmots in the Swiss National Park.

Atopische Dermatitis (AD), atopisches Ekzem oder Neurodermitis, ist eine weitverbreitete chronische Hauterkrankung mit Entzündungen, Rötungen und Juckreiz. AD tritt typischerweise im Säuglingsalter auf, man kann jedoch in jedem Alter davon betroffen sein. Phasen, in denen sich die Krankheit verschlimmert, sogenannte Schübe, werden von Phasen abgelöst, in denen sich der Zustand der Haut verbessert oder der Juckreiz ganz abklingt. CK-CARE lanciert neue Studien mit dem Ziel, Möglichkeiten zur Vorbeugung und Behandlung von Allergien und AD zu entwickeln.

Stefan Engler, Ständerat und Vorstandsmitglied der Academia Raetica, teilt in der Forschungskolumne im Bündner Tagblatt vom 29.11. seine Gedanken, warum Englisch in der Wissenschaft zunehmend als Lingua franca verwendet wird.

Manal Bel imam has been researching eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) at the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research SIAF since 2020 for her doctoral thesis. EoE is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the esophagus.

Most avalanches occur unobserved in the mountains. Now, existing fiber optic cables from telecommunications could be used as avalanche observers on site. These react to vibrations in the ground with minimal deformation. A device that sends laser pulses into the cables measures them, allowing the cables to be used as seismic sensors.

Rückblick von Jon Duschletta auf das Wissenschaftscafé Graubünden vom 11.November in der Engadiner Post: «Touristiker wünschen sich viele, Natur- und Landschaftsschützer wenig Gäste. So einfach ist die Frage nach einem Zuviel oder Zuwenig aber nicht, wie die Podiumsdiskussion am Donnerstag in Zuoz gezeigt hat. Von «Overtourism» und einer touristischen Übernutzung hingegen sprach niemand.»

Innovative Methoden in der humanen Immunologieforschung kommen im SIAF zum Einsatz und dienen letztlich dem Wohl der Betroffenen.

In February 2020, the “Solar Orbiter” space probe was launched from Kennedy Space Center/USA in the direction of the sun. The Solar Orbiter mission is intended to answer questions about the solar wind, the solar poles, the solar magnetic fields, and space weather. On board the European Space Agency (ESA) satellite are ten instruments that have been tested in advance specifically for conditions in space. Two of them were developed with contributions from the Physikalisch-Meteorologisches Observatorium Davos.

Stellen Sie sich eine Zukunft vor, in der geschädigtes Gewebe oder ganze Organe bei Bedarf mit Hilfe von 3D-Druck hergestellt werden können. Nun, im Moment ist man weit davon entfernt, funktionsfähige Organe herstellen zu können, jedoch sind einige konkrete klinische Anwendungen bereits Realität.

The diversity of research carried out in Graubünden was the focus of the two-day "conference Graubünden forscht" at the Davos Congress Center. The most important aim of "Graubünden forscht" was to boost the exchange between the different research disciplines. Based on the audience vote and a prior expert evaluation, the best presentations in the different disciplines were determined. Seven researchers were awarded prize money of five hundred Swiss francs each.

Simonne Bosiers and Onna Rageth, scientists at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, have developed the smartphone app “Augmented Swiss Heritage” together with the company afca. ag, using technically sophisticated spatial anchors. The app has been online since this summer and makes Davos points of interest from the fields of art, culture, health and sport come alive by supporting their viewing with digital elements.

Christian Rixen vom «WSL-Institut für Schnee-und Lawinenforschung SLF» in Davos über eine sich verändernde Biodiversität

The Christine Kühne - Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE), based in Davos launched the “ProRaD” study in 2016. One of the aims of the study is to better understand the mechanisms that influence the course of atopic dermatitis and its relationships with other diseases.

"Politiker wie Wissenschaftler empfinden gleichermassen, dass sie eine schwierige Beziehung zueinander haben. Das kann auch gar nicht anders sein. In der Wissenschaft geht es um Erwerb und Erhalt von Wissen, in der Politik dagegen um Erwerb und Erhalt von Macht."

Im Februar 2020 wurde die Raumfahrtmission Solar Orbiter der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation ESA von Cape Canaveral aus gestartet. Seitdem befindet sich die Sonde auf grosser Reise durch unser Sonnensystem, bei der sie an Planeten vorüberfliegt, um in ihre einzigartige Umlaufbahn um die Sonne zu gelangen.

Research at SRISM addresses pressing questions in sports immunology: Why are athletes more susceptible to infections, allergies and asthma? Are there measurable characteristics that can be used to identify and subsequently better protect particularly susceptible athletes? What is the impact of intense sport on the human immune system and metabolism?

Am Donnerstagabend, 16. Juni 2022, fand im Caffè B12 in Chur im Rahmen des Wissenschaftscafé Graubünden eine Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema New Work statt. Moderiert wurde die Veranstaltung von Barbara Haller Rupf, Geschäftsführerin  der Academia Raetica, welche die Veranstaltung organisiert hat. Es war ein leidenschaftlich geführtes Gespräch über einen Mega-Trend, der bereits Realität ist und viele Chancen wie Herausforderungen mit sich bringt.

On May 5, the Science Café "Graubünden during the Second World War" of the Institute for Cultural Research Graubünden took place in Chur. The topic appealed to many interested people and the hall of the B12 was filled to capacity.

High blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, water retention: If these symptoms occur during pregnancy, perhaps preeclampsia could be behind it. In Switzerland, the condition affects about two percent of all pregnant women. The CSEM Center Landquart and the Empa spin-off MOMM Diagnostics, which was founded in 2018, are researching a point-of-care test for the early detection of pre-eclampsia.

Gemäss dem Rückenreport 2020 der Rheumaliga verspüren 88 Prozent der Schweizerinnen und Schweizer mindestens einmal im Jahr Rückenschmerzen. Die Beschwerden sind meist vorübergehend und klingen nach wenigen Tagen oder Wochen ab. Wenn dies nicht der Fall ist, kann sich eine chronische Beeinträchtigung entwickeln. Die Folgen sind Einschränkungen der Mobilität bis hin zur Arbeitsunfähigkeit.

The conference "Graubünden forscht" - Davos, September 21-22, 2022 - brings together young scientists from a wide spectrum of research disciplines that are of societal importance for Graubünden and the Alpine region. We are looking forward to receiving numerous abstracts!

Schon seit mehr als 20 Jahren existiert das von der Weltmeteorologischen Organisation (WMO)  in Auftrag gegebene Trübungsmessnetz. Verantwortlich dafür ist ein kleines Team von Wissenschaftlern und Technikern am Physikalisch-Meteorologischen Observatorium Davos.

Circulatory disorders of the coronary arteries are the most common cause of death worldwide. If heart attacks occur in a family over generations, the offspring are also more likely to suffer a heart attack. But what role do genes play in this? If we can discover genes that are in part responsible for a heart attack, it may be possible to develop new treatments based on this knowledge.

The aim of the research project with students of the UAS Grisons is to expand the state of the art in alpine rescue. The use of technologies from the field of robotics should simplify rescue operations and increase the rescue spectrum. For the pre-development, the students received a construction kit with propeller, battery, motor and electronic board for testing control algorithms, which will later be used in a real system.

Siegfried Borelli gehörte 2006 zu den Gründungsmitgliedern der Academia Raetica. 1960 gründete er die «Deut­sche Kli­nik für Der­ma­to­lo­gie und All­er­gie Davos».  Zunächst als Abteilung im Sanatorium Valbella (Davos-Dorf) lokalisiert, erfolgte 1974 der Umzug in die Klinik Alexanderhaus in Davos-Platz. Borel­li war bis 2001 Ärzt­li­cher Direk­tor die­ser Klinik. Er verstarb am 20. November 2021 im Alter von 97 Jahren.

Karin Fieten vom Niederländischen Asthmazentrum Davos (NAD) und SIAF hat in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Davoser Instituten CK-CARE (Claudia Traidl-Hofmann), NAD (Lous Rijssenbeek-Nouwens) und SIAF (Cezmi A. Akdis) die Wirksamkeit von Höhenklimatherapie wissenschaftlich untersucht.

A statistics course kicks off our course offerings in 2022. Noemi Adam-Graf from the Institut für Kulturforschung Graubünden speaks about her research on linguistic diversity in Graubünden on Suedostschweiz TV.  How do Grisonians perceive the three cantonal languages German, Italian and Romansh and the various regional dialects?

T cells circulating in the blood play an important role for the human immune system. They specialize into different types of T helper cells (Th cells) when activated by antigens. Th cells help our body fight off bacteria and viruses. But they also play a central role in diseases such as allergies.

"With CERC, we are expanding the SLF’s research spectrum without starting from scratch. Our ambition is that CERC will quickly be perceived as a center of excellence for alpine natural hazards and the alpine environment."

Auf dem Dürrboden in Davos werden dieser Tage wiederum temporär Messgeräte für den Winter installiert. Sie dienen dazu, automatisch Lawinen zu detektieren und sollen künftig zur Verbesserung des Lawinenbulletins beitragen.

Das Wissenschaftscafé Graubünden widmete sich in seiner dritten Austragung im Engadin der Frage "Eis, Schnee und Wasser im Engadin - wohin?" und erörterte - ausgehend vom Thema Wasser - Risiken und Chancen des Klimawandels.

At the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) in Davos Wolfgang, the research team of Mübeccel Akdis and Willem van de Veen has developed methods for purifying B cells. These are used in the study of the immunological memory.

According to “Parkinson Schweiz”, Parkinson’s is one of the most common diseases of the nervous system. The non-profit association puts the number of people affected in Switzerland at 15’000. Veit Mylius, head physician at the Kliniken Valens, describes which symptoms can provide an indication of the disease.

The long-term effects of microplastics on the environment and living organisms are still poorly understood. This raises questions that the audience will discuss with experts at the Science Café Graubünden on September 23 in Chur. (Event in German)

Scientists and climatologists around the world have been dealing with this question for more than 100 years. What exactly is meant by the “strength” of solar radiation and how is it measured?

Researchers from SLF and WSL have analyzed data from more than 200 landslides with the aim of identifying large-scale landslide-prone slopes, implementing measures to improve forest structure in the long term, and thus reducing susceptibility to landslides.

500 years of history crisp and compact on 250 pages – The “Atlas of the history of the Grisons 1524-2024” is intended to appeal equally to all Grisons residents, therefore the atlas will be published in all three cantonal languages.
