Since its inception in 1907, the Physikalisch-Meteorologisches Observatorium Davos (PMOD) deals with questions of the influence of solar radiation on the earth’s climate. In 1970, the PMOD was commissioned to build and operate the World Radiation Centre (WRC). Today, the PMOD/WRC serves as an international calibration center for meteorological radiation measurement instruments. It develops radiation measuring instruments for use on the ground and in space.
