The Institut dal Dicziunari Rumantsch Grischun (I-DRG) was founded in 1904. It is an important center for research and documentation of the Raeto-romansh language and the alpine culture. The responsible body of the institute is the Societad Retorumantscha. The I-DRG edits the national dictionary of the Raeto-romansh language (Dicziunari Rumantsch Grischun, Cuera, 1938ss.). So far, thirteen volumes and eight fascicles have been published (letters A – METTER I). The DRG takes into account all Raeto-romansh idioms and the dialects of the canton of Grisons. In addition, the I-DRG hosts a noteworthy collection of photographs.
