Dr. Liam O’Mahony, Head of Molecular Immunology at the Swiss Institute for Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) in Davos, received the PhARF award at the annual conference of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) in Helsinki. The EAACI is the world’s largest academy for allergic diseases with more than ten thousand members. The aim of the PhARF Award is to promote the development of allergy research. Therefore, Dr. O’Mahony’s creative, independent and innovative research efforts and his significant contribution to allergy research are recognized with the award. His research interests include, in particular, the role of bacteria and nutrition in modeling the immune response of patients with allergies and asthma.
